Cinnamon Roll Apple Pie

Ingredients:

Dough 

  • 2 Eggs 
  • 1/3 cup of granulated sugar 
  • 1 cup of hot milk 
  • ¼ cup of shortening 
  • 2 ½ cups of plain flour
  • 1 tbsp of dry yeast 

Cinnamon Stuffing 

  • ¼ cup of shortening 
  • 2/3 cup of brown sugar 
  • 2 tbsp of cinnamon

Apple Stuffing

  • 2 cups of chopped apples
  • 3 tbsp of brown sugar
  • 1 cinnamon stick



Step-By-Step Instructions:

1.  Whisk the eggs, sugar and salt in a bowl.
2. In another bowl add the shortening and hot milk and whisk until even.
3.  Add the mixture to the eggs and mix together.
4. Add half the flower and fold. Add the yeast and mix well. Add the rest of the flower and fold again until even.
5. Roll out the dough in a rectangle and brush with the melted shortening.
6. Sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon and roll it to form a long cylinder.
7. Cut 0,5-inch circles of dough and place them tightly together, facing up in a floured surface. With the rolling pin, roll out the circles to make another rectangle. Cut the circles with the pie maker cutters and let it rest.
8. In a frying pan, add the apple, sugar and cinnamon and let it cook until tender, for about 10 minutes.
9. Stuff the circles with the apple and bake at 400ºF for about 15 minutes.
